Murmures is a collective web experience. An analysis engine, Jev, reads the emotional register of the sentence you write and turns it into ten continuous variables — energy, tension, hue, viscosity, turbulence, gravity, density, cohesion, pulse, trail — fed live into a WebGL particle field. The field is shared: any sentence written by any visitor crosses everyone else's screen, in real time. Sixteen spectra are there to be found, six of them secret modes triggered by precise registers of writing. Free, no account, in the browser.

The ten variables

How it works

  1. Write a sentence, or dictate it, in the composer at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Jev reads its emotional register and turns it into ten variables, which drive the particle field live.
  3. Probe the flux to open the inspection panel: the gauges, the collective flux and the Codex of sixteen spectra.
